There are few things more rewarding than tasting fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables. The annual Barnegat Farmer's Market is coming to town every Thursday, starting June 24th and running until September 30th. Visitors will enjoy the availability of freshly picked vegetables fruits flowers and herbs, as well as homemade dressings, honey, jam and bread. Gourmet pasta, meats, cheeses and soups will also be available, along with a few craft vendors. So, come support your local New Jersey farmers and improve the quality of your food all in one bright and airy shop! The Barnegat Farmer's Market starts at 12:00pm and runs until 5:00pm every week! Bring your little explorers to see, touch and learn about shellfish gardening in the Barnegat Bay. Visit the shellfish nursery where thousands of baby shellfish are grown every Friday through September from 10:00am until 11:00am locate at the Barnegat Light Public Boat Ramp Bayview Avenue & 10th Street, Barnegat Light. In the aftermath of Sandy, contractors of all kinds will invariably be coming to the area seeking to perform work. We are asking everyone to be careful when dealing with an unknown contractor. It is recommended that you be sure the contractor is registered with the State of New Jersey. Get a written and signed contract from the contractor before any work is performed. Do not pay by cash or with a check written to "cash", instead make the check out to the company name. DO NOT pay the entire amount up front, pay an agreed upon portion then pay in full when the work is completed.
