Ship Bottom Shellfish opened in 1981. Ship Bottom Shellfish is family owned and operated by Bob and Ginna Nugent. Ship Bottom Shellfish initially opened as a primarily take-out eatery, but throughout the thirty years of calling Long Beach Island home, they have transformed into a family-style dining restaurant with a full-scale fish market named after its hometown. Although specializing in shellfish, the extensive menu includes all varieties of seafood, as well as entrees for "land lovers".
